Our Pastor, Bishop Phillip Calloway, Sr., is a dedicated man of God who has been preaching the Word for over 40 (forty) years. He is a people lover. He always says, “If you are a pastor that doesn’t like people, then you are in the wrong profession.” Nevertheless, he is not a people pleaser. At Fellowship, he constantly recites, “ . . . do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be a servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10).
He doesn’t sugar-coat anything which is one of the reasons that we admire him. He has a great concern for the inward man and a passion for winning souls. He tells us that it is not enough to attend church, but we must be committed to God and allow God to exercise His will in our lives.
Our Pastor is an outstanding teacher and advises us to follow him in the Bible – to always make sure that any Speaker is in the Word. During Bible Study, Bishop Calloway keeps us engaged. Participation is encouraged and anticipated. He frequently asks questions, challenging attendees. One of his favorite sayings is, “Prove it!” His enthusiasm about God’s Word is palpable. Many people have said, “If you want to get Bishop excited, just start talking to him about the Bible!” Such statement leads to yet another quality that we love
about our Pastor - he always expresses that it’s all about God. It’s not about him or anyone else. God gets the glory!
